Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge

Located just minutes away from the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge and Mississippi Palisades State Park, it is the perfect place to spend a weekend with nature. Our area is rich in birding resources from Bald Eagles in winter to the migratory birds that pass through in Spring and Fall.  Stewards of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge (Friend’s Group for U.S. Fish and Wildlife) offer monthly bird walks, eight passenger golf cart tours of the refuge, and birding van tours of Lost Mound Unit, (Old Savanna Army Depot).
